The free game offers Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced difficulty levels, allowing players to move from introductory puzzles to increasingly challenging exercises in logic, concentration and problem solving.

Players can use digital Pencil Marks to record possible answers before committing to a number, similar to working through a Sudoku puzzle with pencil and paper. The game also highlights the selected row, column and 3×3 box, identifies matching numbers and visually alerts players when conflicting numbers appear. A built-in Check Puzzle feature gives players immediate feedback on the final answers they have entered. Correct answers remain in place while incorrect entries are highlighted so players can reconsider their reasoning and continue working toward a solution.

The Sudoku Game also includes multiple puzzle versions at each difficulty level, allowing players to load new puzzles for continued practice rather than completing a single fixed activity. Students and other players who are not completing a teacher assignment can simply play independently without entering an assignment code. Sudoku requires players to complete a 9×9 grid so that the numbers 1 through 9 appear only once in every row, column and 3×3 box.
