- Voltaiq Battery Intelligence platform will embed AI and advanced analytics across Forge Nano’s growing U.S. battery development and production operations.
DENVER and CUPERTINO, Calif., Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Forge Nano, Inc., a leading U.S.-based semiconductor equipment and advanced materials company pioneering Atomic Layer Deposition (“ALD”) technology for artificial intelligence (“AI”)-era chip manufacturing and defense battery applications, which has signed an agreement to merge with Archimedes Tech SPAC Partners II Co. (“Archimedes II”) (NASDAQ: ATII), and Voltaiq, the leading battery intelligence and AI platform, today announced an expansion of their longstanding relationship as Forge Nano moves to rapidly integrate artificial intelligence across its battery operations. As Forge Nano scales from advanced battery development toward high-volume U.S.-based battery manufacturing, the company plans to use AI to accelerate development, improve quality and give its teams faster access to insights from its battery program. Voltaiq will provide the battery-specific data infrastructure and AI-powered analytics platform to support these efforts across R&D, product development, manufacturing and quality.
“AI is becoming fundamental to how we operate, how we intend to scale Forge Nano, and in both our battery products and the solutions we create for semiconductor companies enabling the next generation of AI chips,” said Paul Lichty, CEO and Co-founder of Forge Nano. “Working with Voltaiq for years, we’ve learned the importance of a robust data ontology. Rolling out AI across the battery development business allows us to build on the proven data foundation we already have with Voltaiq and use their new AI virtual battery engineers to enable all of our teams to make better decisions and scale our business.”
With demand growing for high-performance, domestically produced batteries, Forge Nano has recently broken ground on a 3 GWh/year gigafactory in Morrisville, North Carolina. The company is specifically targeting high-performance defense and aerospace applications where battery performance, quality and traceability are mandatory. Voltaiq’s enterprise software platform will support the entire product lifecycle from battery development to manufacturing and enable Forge Nano engineers to rapidly find manufacturing anomalies, quality excursions, and equipment issues during high-volume manufacturing. Forge Nano already relies on Voltaiq to unify electrochemical, materials, and process data across its development and production operations – giving engineers visibility into performance differences that traditional analysis methods often miss.
“Forge Nano is a great example of why we founded Voltaiq,” said Tal Sholklapper, CEO and Co-founder of Voltaiq. “Every battery company is looking at how they can use AI to improve design or manufacturing, but AI is only as useful as the data behind it. The Voltaiq platform was built to make battery data AI-ready at scale and give engineers the context and insights they need to make decisions that improve yield, quality, and throughput. Our mission is to help companies like Forge Nano leverage AI on real battery problems, scale their operations, and compete more effectively.”
