Hoboken, New Jersey – October 14, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –

World of Wonder Childcare Center will bring children from its two Hoboken locations together for a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 3:45 p.m. The neighborhood walk will honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with children dressed in pink as they take part in an activity centered on community support, kindness, and outdoor movement.

The walk will begin at the center’s Harrison Street location and proceed along 2nd Street toward the 2nd Street light rail station, where the group will meet children from the Jackson Street location. The combined group will then walk around the light rail area before returning to the starting center. The route brings together children from both Hoboken locations for a shared activity outside their usual classroom settings.

World of Wonder families are invited to walk alongside the children or cheer from the sidelines. Neighbors along the route are also welcome to show their support as the group passes. Participants are encouraged to wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, creating a visible show of support as the children move through the neighborhood.

The event gives young children an opportunity to participate in a community activity connected to a cause that receives attention throughout October. Through a short neighborhood walk, children can experience taking part in a shared effort while spending time outdoors with classmates, teachers, and families. The activity is designed around a simple format that allows children to participate in a way suited to their age and abilities.

“The walk gives children a chance to take part in a community activity and see how people can come together to support an important cause,” said Diane Branco, CEO of World of Wonder Childcare Center. “Wearing pink and walking alongside their classmates makes the event a simple, age-appropriate way to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”

The walk also creates an opportunity for families and neighbors to participate in the event’s message of support. Families can accompany the group or remain along the route to encourage the children, while community members can join in by cheering as the walkers pass. Their presence connects the children’s activity with the wider neighborhood and gives residents a way to take part in the observance.

Alongside the walk, World of Wonder is collecting donations from families at its centers. All funds collected will go to Susan G. Komen, the breast cancer organization, and World of Wonder will match all donations by 10 percent. Donations collected for Susan G. Komen will support the foundation’s breast cancer work, while the walk gives children and families a way to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month together.

The October 16 walk involves the center’s two Hoboken locations. The activity is scheduled for the afternoon, with the group returning to the Harrison Street center after completing the route. Its planned route and format keep the event focused on bringing the two Hoboken groups together for a local observance.

World of Wonder Childcare Center operates bilingual early childhood programs in English and Spanish for children from infancy through Intermediate Pre-K. The organization has three locations across Hoboken and Jersey City and describes its approach as community-oriented, with activities that connect children, families, and their surroundings. The Breast Cancer Awareness Walk is one such community activity, bringing children from the two Hoboken centers together to help raise breast cancer awareness and support the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
